EMC and Apra: quality as an engine for growth

Quality and Sustainability, topical issues that cut across the board. More and more companies, in every business, are placing these issues at the heart of their vision, and reaping concrete advantages and benefits: new brand positioning, new markets, new clients. This is demonstrated by the story of EMC in Castelfidardo (Ancona), a virtuous example of Italian “savoir-faire”, recognised throughout the world.

EMC’s core business is designing and making extraction systems for household cooker hoods, extractor fans for biomass stoves and shielded pole motors for medical applications. What makes the difference on the international market is their obsessive focus on quality, innovation in terms of energy efficiency and co-design with their clients, which not only solves concrete needs but also anticipates potential and emerging product and market scenarios. This clear vision, pursued over the years with great determination, has made EMC a by-word among the most important players in the international market, and reaped them annual growth in turnover of between 25 and 30 per cent. In summary: ambitious goals, backed up by significant numbers.

EMC's growth reached a major milestone in 2014, with the entry into force of the Energy Label (the requirement that manufacturers indicate their energy consumption class on household appliances) with the aim of stimulating the market to embrace increasingly high-performance products that use less energy and are thus less harmful to the environment (reduced energy requirements and CO2 emissions) while benefitting consumers (lower bills thanks to reduced consumption).

This energy paradigm shift triggered the rise of EMC. Since 2014, its international reputation has become increasingly solid, confirming it as a preferred partner for manufacturers focused on the concepts of energy efficiency, sustainability and innovation. In this context, the collaboration between EMC and Apra was born, with the shared objective of putting the consulting and technological skills of a system integrator at the service of a corporate vision that aims to anticipate and determine future developments in the marketplace.

ERP & MES
As the first step of our collaboration, we ensured management continuity at EMC, replacing the solution previously in use with our Essenzia Suite, with the aim of improving the efficiency of their business processes and functions, and providing a full view of their strategic direction. On this technological basis, we then implemented the MES System, which is indispensable for optimising logistics and production flows and monitoring, in real time, the company's performance in terms of time, costs and quality.
Compliance Management

We have already emphasised that quality is the key factor within EMC. To boost it to the highest level, we implemented the QualiWare Suite for compliance management in terms of Quality, Safety and Environment. Thanks to its flexible structure, QualiWare improves every information flow, with immediate effects on time savings, quality of work and guaranteed compliance.

From 2014 to date, EMC has experienced major growth internationally, thanks to our focus on innovation, quality, energy sustainability and co-design with the client.
