Dolomiti Energia Group: eco-friendly workspaces and tools with Var Group and LENOVO

Dolomiti Energia Holding had a heterogeneous device fleet in terms of brands, resulting in complexity in managing internal technical support. This created the need to outsource the supply, maintenance, and support of all corporate devices. The tender to find the most suitable technology partner was won by Var Group, which, thanks to its ability to correctly interpret the company’s needs with a green approach, offered the best technical and economic evaluation.

As a Competence Center for Asset Management, Var Group will take charge of the setup and full maintenance of all workstations, allowing the Group to dedicate internal resources to innovative projects focused on Cloud, Digital Security, and other IT areas strategic to the business. Over a period of four years, approximately 1,300 Lenovo personal computers, workstations, thin clients, and notebooks will be managed throughout their entire lifecycle: from purchase and installation, to relocation between offices, integration of add-ons, software updates, and finally to sustainable decommissioning and disposal at the end of the contract. Var Group is also certified for the compliant disposal of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which includes the regeneration of obsolete workstations: they are collected, inspected, updated, and then reintroduced into the secondary market through brokers, local resellers, or national distributors. The focus on environmental impact, always a top priority for Dolomiti Energia Group, is also reflected in the choice of Lenovo products that make up the PC supply. Furthermore, Var Group will organize maintenance for existing machines, managing the current heterogeneity of the device fleet.

Each workstation is managed as an asset with a defined lifecycle, integrated into a dynamic IT service management approach where services are treated as a single, planned, managed, and monitored entity. This is carried out by Var Group’s specialist support through Help Desk, Contact Center, and on-site activities. This winning model draws its strength from the integration of expertise and governance capabilities. The service is further enhanced by the dedicated presence of a Var Group resource assigned 100% to the client, ensuring full supervision of the entire service.
