Base Digitale is an important company in the Italian sector of technologically advanced solutions for the banking and finance market, primarily focused on cloud and digital platforms, application modernisation, artificial intelligence and security. The Group was formed in 2020 by bringing together different companies and adding the most advanced services in the technology, digital innovation and security field, thanks in no small part to being a SeSa Group company. Today, Base Digitale has around 1000 employees across 23 sites in Italy, generating turnover of 160 million Euros.

Grow and overcome the challenge of integration

One of the challenges that the Group has found itself taking on in recent years is that of integration: bringing together common corporate goals and people used to working according to different logic and dynamics. Given the Group’s growth and its composite nature, in order to meet the integration challenge it was necessary to equip itself with shared technological tools to standardise the company processes. The company wanted a platform which would meet the different internal requirements, pooling all data from a standpoint of homogeneous analysis.

Shared processes within a single platform

Putting its trust in Var Group and its Competence Centre dedicated to Microsoft Business Applications, Base Digitale began the adoption process for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Microsoft ERP was chosen due to its operational simplicity, and due to the level of security it guarantees. Thanks to the support of a specialised, dedicated team, the adoption of the new ERP went extremely smoothly, and demonstrated benefits right from the start.

Simplicity, flexibility and a unique language for all operational flows

The adoption of a shared tool, although it was new for many users, helped create common practices and workflows, leveraging specificities but at the same time guaranteeing a unique language which allowed the people in different offices to work better. Innovative functions linked to accounting, customer and supplier management simplified company operations by automating workflows: this led to reduced margins for error and fewer repetitive manual operations without added value. Base Digitale is evaluating a new future project alongside Var Group which will involve moving to the SaaS version to enjoy all the benefits of the ERP in terms of scalability, flexibility, operational efficiency and security.
