The cloud as a hybrid approach to digital transformation
Over the past 15 years, the passenger transport business has grown significantly, also thanks to the opening of new routes. To continue supporting this growth in such a strategic sector, the group needed to make its IT systems more efficient, scalable, and above all, more secure. After a thorough analysis of the evolving IT market, a new technological paradigm was chosen: the Cloud. The shift from a fully in-house IT management model to a hybrid one was a major challenge, requiring significant effort and a radical change. This change went beyond simply adopting modern technologies—it focused on achieving greater operational efficiency and cost optimization.

Since the IT platform supporting the tourism division was entirely based on Oracle technology, the most natural choice was to maintain continuity. Oracle products were therefore confirmed for this new and challenging project. As this was the first time Grimaldi Group was undertaking such a complex cloud-based project, it was essential to find a reliable partner with strong expertise in Oracle Cloud to support both the migration and the ongoing system management.
