BIP is one of the leading consultancies in Europe offering support to companies in the process of finding and adopting disruptive technology solutions. The company has a very complex structure: more than 2,200 staff spread across Italy, England, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Belgium, Switzerland, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Chile and Colombia.

In 2018, the company felt the need to completely revise its business processes, with the aim of integrating all approval flows with certified digital signatures.

The project
The project involved setting up Business Central for more than 150 users at multiple locations in Italy and abroad. It involved all company functions to describe and define the ERP flows. The innovative breakthrough was to implement the entire order approval workflow in Business Central and integrate it with digital signature systems (both click-to-sign and graphometric). The whole procedure is also mobile (on tablets and smartphones), as it exploits the storage potential of the Azure platform.
Impact

The ERP implementation project enabled BIP to improve its corporate control processes and standardise the business model across all its locations.

In particular, the digital signature project involved the integration of all corporate functions involved in the authorisation process. This means that there are no more delays in the approval of contracts while, above all, automating management of authorisation levels in relation to the type of contract: corporate functions are involved in the authorisation process only when needed and in line with defined hierarchies.

The user can choose the device they find most convenient at the time, whether PC, tablet or smartphone.

Differentiation, relevance & replicability

Organisations with a decentralised, diffuse structure, with many people working remotely and on the move, have an ever-increasing need for systems that are both easy to use and that bring order to potentially unstructured processes.

The BIP project differs from a “normal” ERP implementation precisely in this regard: it not only handles the administrative and controlling processes (as complex as they are in a company of this size), but also the operational aspects of project management.

In particular, combining Business Central, Azure and encryption systems made it possible to integrate the workflow of actors from multiple locations to bring order, improve efficiency, centralise information, and reduce the possibility of errors.
